Comments:

I went to work for the Corps of Engineers in the fall of 1973. Started as a temporary clerk-typist in the Appraisal Branch of the Real Estate Division (never dreamed I would still be working for them all this time later!). I moved into a couple of other jobs after becoming a permanent employee and finally ended up in the Survey Branch for Engineering Division. I decided in 1979 to stay home and raise kids for awhile. I got to be the home room Mom and Girl Scout assistant and Leader. It was a lot of fun! But, then decided I needed to be back in the workforce. So, I went back to my friends at the Corps and lucky me they were hiring and I had reinstatement rights. I had my choice of different clerk-typist positions in different branches but when I saw there was an opening in Real Estate I grabbed it. I worked my way up the ladder and here I am in Fort Worth as the Chief of Recruiting and Housing Section, Acquisition Branch in Real Estate Division. We lease armed forces recruiting offices in Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico. It has been a great career and there were a lot of good people along the way who helped me to where I am today.

I have been married for 50 years to my best friend and wonderful husband, Chuck. He has taught school most of our married life as an orchestra director, choir director, marching band director (he is good friends with Paris York). He played with the Tulsa Philharmonic Orchestra for several years and he also played in a few local bands in the Tulsa area - Tulsa's Own Fame, Tourist, Mirage, Baby and the Boomers, The Usual Suspects. He also worked and wrote songs with Mike Gibson for a few years and one of Chuck's songs is on the movie that Mike made. Both Chuck and I miss him alot!! Chuck is currently working on a CD of his original songs and hopefully it will be available very soon. NEWS FLASH!! The CD has been mastered. Working on the cover and soon will be available for purchase. The name of the CD is "Two Hearts".

We have two great kids - Kerry and Dan and of course the 4 grandkids! That old saying is so true - "If I had known that grandkids were so much fun, I would have had them first!!!" LOL!!!
