Does anyone remember Mrs. Orr's 7th grade Language Arts class? Mrs. Orr took David into the coat closet for licks once a week, it seemed like. Only her aim wasn't very good, and David was always laughing when he came out. What a character he was.
I remember Mrs. Orr's class and the trips he took to the cloakroom/closet and I remember we all counted the swats as well as the times she missed!!! LOL!!
Have talked with his mother a few times - we shared the same loss of a loved one thru Viet Nam - shared the dedication of the Viet Nam Memorial at Central Park with her
Larry Cherry Yes I remember Mrs. Orr! She wouldn't let me go to the bathroom one time So when it got bad enough I went anyway. When I came out of the bathroom she grabbed me by the hair and walked me back to class.
How could anyone forget David Lucas OR Mrs. Orr's class? They were made for each other! Ha! I had a love/hate relationship with David. He lived on my street, so I felt like he was family. However, one time he got licks from Mrs. Orr for stabbing me with his very sharp pencil and breaking off the tip in my skin. I think I still have that black mark! He really was a character that always had a smile on his face that looked like he was planning something that I really didn't want to know about!
