Billy Ray “Bill” Harper was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on Sunday, February 11, 1951, the son of Hershell and Betty G. (Sturgeon) Harper. Bill died in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Friday, April 28, 2017. He was 66 years of age.
Bill was a 1969 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. He also attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Bill married the former Miss Betty Turner in 1972 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and they were blessed with two sons. Bill worked as a truck driver and equipment operator. Over the years, he worked in cross country trucking, dump trucking, then as a loader operator. He referred to his loader as “Bill Dozer”. He loved trucking and operating heavy equipment. Bill was a hard worker and took great pride in his work. He also enjoyed spending time relaxing at home when he could.
