I know in our earlier days, Doug was great guy. His mother and my mother, Florence both worked in the newborne nursery at St. Francis. They shared a lot of mine & Doug's childhood years of growing up. That is why I know through my mother's stories, he was a good kid.

All of us classmates should take the time to read the memorial profile that Doug's sister, Becky Chasteen (Howeth) has posted on her profile. She is a guest member listed at the bottom of the regular classmates list. She has done a fantastic job with the pictures and the text that she has put on her profile about Doug. I never hung around with Doug much, but I did speak to him in the halls and we had a couple of classes together. We seem to get along pretty well.
Becky's tribute to her brother was very heartfelt and moving. I am sure Doug was a tremendous brother and father. You can just tell by the pictures.
Thank you for doing this for our class and for Doug's memory.

Doug was a fantastic guy, I was the new girl in town and he was always nice to me and he was mild mannered and had a gentle spirit, I just can't get over that he is gone too. Even though we did'nt keep in touch, he is just one more person that leaves a void on this earth. I loved the tribute Becky put on the website and it remimded me of somethings about Doug: I can still see him in mind, I can still see his smile.
